Turkey is to receive € 3 billion from the EU to solve the problem of refugees, who are moving to the country from the Middle East in order to migrate to Europe. The decision on the allocation of money, made by the European Commission, was adopted today.
"The funds will be provided, starting from January 1st 2016,'' the statement reports.
It was assumed earlier that the European Commission would allocate € 1 billion to Turkey and € 700 million to Macedonia in order to solve problems with refugees, Gazeta.ru reports.
