Turkey’s government will submit a draft proposal to parliament to remove parliamentarians’ immunity from prosecution as early as Tuesday, Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said, Reuters reports.
Earlier, Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan demanded the parliament to deprive five MPs from the HDP of the parliamentary immunity. Turkey’s Justice Ministry appealed to the parliament for depriving the head of the Turkish opposition Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP), Selahattin Demirtas, and other MPs from the HDP of the parliamentary immunity.
