Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that Ankara may open its borders, allowing refugees to reach Europe.
There were media reports claiming that Erdogan had demanded 30 billion euros from the European Commission Chairman Jean-Claude Juncker to help the country resolve the refugee crisis.
"Someone is trying to blame us by making the content of the negotiations public. We strongly defended the rights of Syrian refugees and want the European Union to meet its obligations. We are not ashamed of this. We bussed refugees in Edirne and sent them back. This can be done once or twice, but then we will open the border and wish them a happy journey," RIA Novosti cited Erdogan as saying.
