One Turkish soldier was killed in Operation Olive Branch carried out by the Turkish army in Syria’s Afrin district today, according to a military statement.
The military said the Turkish Armed Forces had destroyed 19 targets and killed 34 more People’s Protection Units (YPG) militants in overnight airstrikes on February 9, Hurriyet daily reported.
Turkey on January 20 launched its operation into the northwestern district of Afrin to remove the YPG, which Ankara considers a terrorist group for its links to the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK).
