Turkmenistan sets up own anti-doping agency

Turkmenistan has set up the National Anti-Doping Agency, 'Turkmenistan' TV channel reported.

"I am pleased with the adoption of the anti-doping law and the establishment of the National Anti-Doping Agency of Turkmenistan - NADAT," President of the World Anti-Doping Agency, Craig Reedie said in a letter to Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

Reedie noted that WADA is still committed to assisting Turkmenistan in NADAT development, stressing that the 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games were held at a high level in Ashgabat in September 2017.

A meeting of the executive committee of the Central Asia Regional Anti-Doping Organization and a workshop on the training of doping control officers were held in Turkmenistan in May 2017.
