Day 12 of Olympic Games: what to expect?

Today is the twelfth day of the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. Athletes will compete for 16 medal sets: boxing, athletics, badminton, equestrian, sailing, table tennis, wrestling, taekwondo, women's water polo and men's volleyball.

Russian men's volleyball team will play against Canada at 16:00 MSK. Russian women's national water polo team will play against Italia at 22:30 MSK.

Women's  teams will compete in freestyle wrestling in the 48kg, 58kg and 69kg divisions will start. Russian Milana Dadashova (48 kg) will wrestle Kim Hyon-gyong (DPRK), Russian Valeria Koblova (58 kg) will wrestle Louise Niemesch (Germany) and the Russian Olympic champion Natalia Vorobyeva (69 kg) will wrestle Elmira Syzdykova (Kazakhstan). 

Russian boxer Anastasia Belyakova will fight Estelle Mossel (France) in the weight category under 60 kg and another Russian Misha Aloyan will fight Ceiber Ávila in the weight category under 52 kg in the semifinals.

Russian Darya Klishina will perform in the women's long jump final at 03:15 MSK.

Women's golf competition will start today with the participation of Russian Maria Verchenova. Russian divers Ekaterina Petukhova and Yulia Timoshinina will perform in the women's 10 m platform qualifying round.

Australia and Lithuania, Spain and France, the United States and Argentina, Croatia and Serbia will play in the quarterfinals of the men’s basketball tournament. Netherlands will face Germany, while Britain takes on New Zealand in the women's  field hockey semi-finals. Brazil and France, Germany and Katar, Denmark and Slovenia, Croatia and Poland will compete in the men's Olympic handball quarterfinals.
