Mines planted by the Ukrainian armed forces keep 12 vessels, mainly Turkish ones, trapped in the port of Kherson, a deputy head of the region’s civil-military administration said on Tuesday.
"There are about 12 ships in port, the majority of them are Turkish vessels. Nothing is happening to them, they are fully guarded, nothing threatens them," Kirill Stremousov said.
He specified that the maritime traffic would resume after the city of Ochakov in the Nikolaev Region is liberated, TASS reported.
As reported earlier, the ships in Kherson’s port were blocked because the Ukrainian side had mined the internal waters.
