Two years since Armenia's deadly Ganja attack

Two years pass since the 5th missile strike on Ganja city by Armenian Armed Forces.

Enemy fired the second largest city of Azerbaijan Ganja once again, which is situated far from frontline zone, at about 1:00 am on October 17, 2020, using operational-tactical ballistic missiles.

Residential houses were completely destroyed during the enemy attack, residents remained under rubble. As a result, 13 persons were killed, 52 people were injured, and numerous civilian infrastructure facilities, and transport vehicles were seriously damaged. There were minors, women, and the elderly among the martyred and injured persons. As a result of the Armenian shelling of Ganja, 20 houses were completely destroyed, 100 houses were heavily damaged.

Criminal case was launched by the Prosecutor General’s Office of Azerbaijan with several articles of Criminal Code regarding the fact.

During the Second Karabakh War, the Armenian Armed Forces attacked Ganja 5 times (October 4, 5, 8, 11, 17) with rockets and heavy artillery. 

It should be noted that 93 civilians, including 12 children and 27 women, were killed, 454 were injured, 12,292 residential and non-residential areas, 288 vehicles, and 1,018 farms were damaged.
