U.S. Muslims demand apologies from presidential nominee

The biggest social organization of Muslims in the U.S., the Council for American-Islamic Relations, has demanded apologies from one of the current presidential nominees, the governor of Wisconsin, Scott Walker.

Yesterday he met voters in New Hampshire and made statements which were recognized by the Council as Islamophobic.

The Council’s protest was caused by Walker’s words that there are “only a few reasonable, moderate Muslims” in the world. “Such false statements reflect misunderstanding of Islam and Muslims; and this is unacceptable for a presidential nominee,” the head of the Council, Robert Macco, thinks, TASS reports.
