U.S. spy plane conducts reconnaissance close to Russia's bases in Syria

The U.S. maritime patrol aircraft conducted reconnaissance along Syria’s maritime borders, near Russia’s Hmeymim air base and Tartus naval base.

The P-8A Poseidon reconnaissance plane with the tail number 168859 took off from the military base at Sigonella, Sicily. The plane cruised in the specified area for about 1.5 hours.

Earlier yesterday, the U.S. Air Force aircraft conducted reconnaissance near the coast of the Crimean peninsula, according to the monitoring resource PlaneRadar.

The Boeing RC-135V reconnaissance plane with the tail number 64-14846 and the call sign MITE21 took off from the Saya Bay air base in Greece at 08:35 Moscow time. It flew around the borders of the peninsula several times, then returned to its home airfield. The RC-135V cruised in the specified area for about three hours.
