U.S. to further increase assistance to Armenia

The United States is determinig what it can do to increase its assistance to Armenia, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken said.

According to the U.S. secretary of state, Washington is considering a series of Yerevan's requests, determining steps it can take to strengthen support for Armenia and develop U.S.-Armenian relations.

"I met with prime minister Pashinyan just a few weeks ago in Brussels and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, precisely to look at what more we and the EU can do to support Armenia," Blinken said.

The U.S. secretary of state added that Washington will be moving forward on a number of different areas.

According to Blinken, Nikol Pashinyan has done an extraordinary job leading his country in very-very difficult times.

Blinken also expressed hope that Baku and Yerevan will sign a peace treaty.
