UN Secretary General to attend COP29 in Baku

The UN Secretary-General announced that he would visit the Azerbaijani capital. Here, he will take part in the Conference of the Parties to the Organization's Framework Convention on Climate Change.

"Yes, of course, I always attend COP conferences, I come to their opening and closing sessions. I expect that this will be the moment of change in the sense that there will be a moment of global recognition that we are moving towards an abyss",

António Guterres to First Deputy General Director of TASS Mikhail Gusman said.

He further noted that a common understanding of environmental problems' global nature would emerge thanks to this conference. In particular, the UN Secretary General pointed out that the climate on the planet is getting hotter every year.

Let us remind you that the conference will take place in Baku in November 2024.
