UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay will visit Russia on her first official visit, the press service of the organization reports. It is specified that the visit will take place on March 5-7.
“The purpose of this visit is to confirm the links between UNESCO and Russia, whose participation in UNESCO’s activities is historic in all areas of the organization’s competencies,” the UNESCO message reads.
The press service stressed that Azoulay is planning to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The parties will discuss "strengthening the existing partnership in such important areas as science, the world's oceans, artificial intelligence, heritage and culture."
