Assistant Secretary of the US Department of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Karen Donfried will visit Russia and Ukraine, the press service of the department reported.
"Assistant Secretary of State for the European and Eurasian Bureau, Karen Donfried will visit Kiev and Moscow on December 13-15 to meet with high-ranking officials," RIA Novosti quotes it.
After that, the American diplomat will leave for Brussels, where she will hold consultations with Washington’s EU and NATO partners on December 15-16. It is planned to discuss efforts for a diplomatic settlement of the situation around Ukraine.
