US: ISIS lost 95% of territory in Iraq and Syria

ISIS has lost 95% of the territory in Iraq and Syria, Special Presidential Envoy for the US Global Coalition Brett McGurk said.

He noted that since 2014, ISIS has lost 95% of the territory it once controlled in Iraq and Syria, more than 7.5 million people have been liberated from ISIS and 2.6 million displaced Iraqis have returned to their homes. 

At the same time, ISIS has not recaptured a single meter of the territory it has lost, according to the readout of the meeting of the small group of the global coalition to defeat ISIS, which was held in Jordan.
