The US administration believes that the Russian project Nord Stream 2 has no chance of being implemented, a high-ranking department official told the DPA agency.
He called Nord Stream 2 "a pipeline that will never transport Russian gas."
The source explained that if the construction operator Nord Stream 2 AG was actually able to complete the project, it would have been done long ago.
