Pentagon spokesman Peter Cook has noted that the US welcomes any help in the fight against militants of the terrorist group Islamic State.
"We are watching the situation in Syria," said Cook, commenting on reports about the involvement of the Russian military in the fight against extremists in the country.
He stressed that the Defense Ministry establishment is concerned about the situation in Syria.
