Uzbekistan increases gold and foreign exchange reserves

The Central Bank of Uzbekistan announced an increase in its international reserves by $935 bln. As of March 1, 2022, they amounted to $35.36 bln.

At the same time, the physical monthly volume of gold reserves decreased from 11.6 to 10.9 mln troy ounces or 21.8 tons.

The cost of gold in reserves fell by $50.4 mln to $20.72 bln, which led to an increase in gold quotations.

Meanwhile, foreign currency reserves increased by $983.2 mln in February to $13.52 bln.
