Today, at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Astana, the briefing was held, the topic of which was the growth of tourist flow to the country, primarily the tourist flow from Kazakhstan. The task of increasing the flow of tourists to 7 million people was set by the President of the country Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the Uzbek news agency Dunyo reports.
The leaders of more than 15 tour operators of Kazakhstan, who were present at the briefing, spoke about the great interest in tours to Samarkand, Bukhara and Khorezm. At the same time, they offered not to be limited only to these destinations, but to continue developing tours in new ones, to help in receiving and disseminating information about historical monuments in other regions of Uzbekistan, the head of one of the tour operators in Kazakhstan, Saltanat Abzhanova, said, Sputnik Uzbekistan reports.
The tourism potential of Uzbekistan is far from being exhausted, but there is a lack of information about places that may interest tourists, there are not enough offers that can encourage guests to stay in the country.
Thus, the participants of the briefing suggested opening flights from Astana and Almaty to Samarkand, Bukhara, Urgench, Nukus and organizing separate lanes for tourist groups when crossing checkpoints at the borders.
