Today the deputy chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Economic Policy, a representative of the executive body of the government of the Ivanovo Region, Valery Vasiliev, visited the studio of Vestnik Kavkaza. In the live program Tribune he spoke about the results of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
First of all, the senator underlined that this year anti-Russian sanctions haven’t influenced SPIEF-2015. ‘‘I didn’t feel any influence of these ruinous sanctions on the event. On the contrary, I have visited this forum for years, and this year there were a lot of visitors, almost 10 thousand people. And many of our guests came there not only to listen, but also to participate, to debate at the forum. Because they are absolutely interested in their business. As I remember, about 200 contracts have been signed, estimated to be worth 300 billion rubles. Therefore, we cannot say that the sanctions influenced the St. Petersburg Economic forum,’’ Valery Vasiliev said.
"As always, there were very interesting discussions on various economic topics of the day. I can even express my regret that often those discussions that were interesting to me were carried out at the same time. And I physically could not visit them all at once. As always, the forum took place at a high level, and foreign business visitors were very attentive to the discussions: how to organize the economic policy of Russia in the next period," the senator added.
