Victoria Shelia: Baku is my favorite city for tournaments

Baku is my favorite city for performing at rhythmic gymnastics tournaments, the Georgian gymnast Victoria Shelia said, speaking to the correspondent of Vestnik Kavkaza on the eve of the FIG Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup in Baku.

"I like to visit Baku for competitions, everything is always at a high level here. I can say that it is my favorite city for performing at competitions. When everything is organized so well, it's always nice to perform. I hope that I will come here every year because I'm very happy to see everyone here. I want to say a big thank you to all the organizers who hold the competitions at the highest level, and first of all, to Mariana Vasileva," Victoria Shelia said.

According to her assessment, the competition at the World Cup in Baku will be very high. "Almost all countries are participating, and all the girls are in great shape, I will try to keep up with them," the Georgian gymnast said.

In Baku, Victoria Shelia will once again show the program, which was tested at the World Cup in Tashkent. "I will try to perform better in Baku. I strive to justify the hopes of my coaches. At the European Championships I will try to show my best," the athlete promised.

The gymnast highly appreciated the level of the Azerbaijani gymnasts, adding that she will support the Bulgarian athletes.

Victoria Shelia said that she started training when she was 7 years old. "By today's standards, it's a little late, because today children have been training since the age of 3. I love participate in competitions, it is a great incentive for me," she said.
