Russian Minister of Culture Vladimir Medinsky, speaking with the correspondent of Vestnik Kavkaza, praised the level of cultural and humanitarian cooperation with Azerbaijan.
"We have good relations with the Ministry of Culture of Azerbaijan, the republic has a wonderful minister Abulfas Garayev, who does a lot for the development of our cultural relations," Vladimir Medinsky said in the first place, speaking about contacts between the two states at the level of culture ministries.
"We have good working contacts, moreover, I believe that they are exemplary for the CIS member states. As a whole, Azerbaijan is among the leaders in this regard," the Russian Minister of Culture stressed.
He particularly noted the activities of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and its president, the first lady of Azerbaijan, the first vice-president of the republic Mehriban Aliyeva. "For example, not so long ago, at the end of 2016, Mehriban Aliyeva opened an exhibition of Azerbaijani artists' works in our State Tretyakov Gallery - and such events are held regularly here," Vladimir Medinsky concluded.
