Russian President Vladimir Putin sent congratulatory letters to two residents of Makhachkala, Khadizhat Ismailova and Zubarzhat Murzayeva, on the occasion of their 90-year anniversaries and International Women's Day.
According to the Makhachkala news, the congratulations of the President were read to the birthday ladies by the deputy mayor of Makhachkala, Zapir Alkhasov.
Khadizhat Ismailova moved to Makhachkala from the village of Lakhir in the Lak district of Dagestan back in 1946. She worked for several decades at the canned fish factory and received many labor awards.
Zubarzhat Murzayeva and her family were dispossessed and sent to Kyrgyzstan at the age of 17, in 1936. She was able to return to Makhachkala only after the Great Patriotic War.
