Vladimir Putin awards Leyla Aliyeva with Pushkin Medal

Russian President Vladimir Putin, on the Day of People's Unity, celebrated in the country on November 4th, traditionally presented state awards of the Russian Federation to foreign citizens in Kremlin.

Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, head of the representative office of the Foundation in the Russian Federation, Leyla Aliyeva (Azerbaijan), was awarded with the Pushkin Medal.

It is awarded for achievements in the field of culture and arts, education, humanities and literature, for the great contribution to the study and preservation of cultural heritage, for the rapprochement and mutual enrichment of cultures of nations and nationalities, RIA Novosti reported.
