Russian President Vladimir Putin laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier near the Kremlin wall. This ceremony has become a tradition on Defender of the Fatherland Day, celebrated in Russia today.
The ceremony was also attended by Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, Speakers of the Federation Council and State Duma Valentina Matviyenko and Sergey Naryshkin, head of the presidential administration Sergey Ivanov, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin, head of the military department, Sergey Shoigu, ministers and other government and political figures, and representatives of veterans' organizations, RIA Novosti reported.
