Vladimir Putin names governmental tasks for 2021

The meeting of Russia's State Council was held today, during which its chairman, Russian President Vladimir Putin, set tasks for the executive branch for 2021.

First of all, Vladimir Putin stressed that the coronavirus pandemic, which held back the country's economic and social life during 2020, does not affect Russia's development agenda. "We cannot afford to stop," he said.

In this regard, the Russian leader has updated the program for the beginning of 2020, aimed at a breakthrough in key areas. "Some current issues have been postponed due to the pandemic, but a breakthrough is necessary. We need to set ambitious targets for the next year," Vladimir Putin said, adding that he expects the government to make large-scale achievements in the new year.

Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, in turn, said that national projects have been already adjusted.
