The gymnast said that this is first time he is participating in such large-scale competitions. "My team was at the Junior World Championships, where we took second prize," the gymnast specified.
"I never reached individual finals. Here I went to the platform for the first time, I reached individual finals and took third prize," Volodymyr Kostiuk said.
According to him, next year only one senior gymnast who won gold will represent Ukraine.
The XV Summer European Youth Olympic Festival is being held in Baku on July 21-27. The festival will be attended by more than 3,900 athletes from 48 European countries. Athletes will compete in ten kinds of sports - gymnastics, athletics, basketball, cycling, handball, judo, swimming, tennis, volleyball and wrestling. In total, athletes will compete for 135 sets of medals.
