Kazakhstan's accession to the WTO will cause a drop in the prices of vehicles, the press service of the Ministry for Economic Integration said.
Import duty on new vehicles is currently about 27.9%. After joining the WTO Kazakhstan is obliged to reduce this percentage to 13.3%, and annual import duties will be reduced by 0.5-0.6% to 10.8%.
Import duty on used cars will remain at 25%. About 10% of the value will be import duty on buses and trucks, ca-news reports.
