The administration of Lomonosov Moscow State University is counting on the visit to Moscow of the first vice-president of Azerbaijan, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva for negotiations on the development of the Baku branch of Moscow State University, rector of the Moscow University Viktor Sadovnichy said in an interview with Vestnik Kavkaza.
"I am proud of our branches, and the Baku branch is one of the strongest. This branch receives great support from the state - and personally from the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, the Ministry of Education, and all state structures as a whole. It’s enough to say that thanks to the decision of the Azerbaijani leadership, the campus was built in an amazing venue. Thus, an opportunity to expand was created, "Viktor Sadovnichy said.
"The Baku branch of Moscow State University trains very good specialists. We are very pleased that the elite of Azerbaijan is learning according to the standards and programs of Moscow State University, the graduates of the branch receive the Moscow University diploma. I am very grateful to both Nargiz Pashaeva and Leila Aliyeva for attention to our branch. We hope Mehriban Aliyeva will visit Moscow University to continue the conversation about the fate of the branch, " the rector of Moscow State University said.
"This summer we held a wonderful event - a humanitarian, scientific meeting with young people in Aptekarsky Ogord. Leyla Aliyeva participated in the event as the leader of the Azerbaijani youth movement. Such contacts, of course, help us recruit good students to the branch," Viktor Sadovnichy said.
