Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko and Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev top the CIS leaders' approval rating in Russia, according to a poll conducted by the Russia Public Opinion Research Center (VCIOM).
Alexander Lukashenko's approval rating is 62%; Nursultan Nazarbayev's - 56%.
According to the survey, Belarus and Kazakhstan enjoy the strongest support of Russians among the CIS states. As many as 60% of those polled believe that Belarus is the most stable and successful country in the CIS. It is followed by Kazakhstan (41%).
As many as 64% of Russians believe that Belarus is the key partner of their country in the international arena. Kazakhstan is second with 57%, the correspondent of Vestnik Kavkaza reported.
The poll was conducted among 1200 Russian people on November 17-18.
