Why was Crimea left without a ministry?

The Ministry of Crimea has been abolished in Russia. President Vladimir Putin signed the corresponding decree today.

"Vladimir Putin has signed a decree "On the Abolition of the Ministry of the Russian Federation for the Crimea and the State Commission on the socio-economic development of the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol," RIA Novosti cites the text of the message on the website of the President.

Previously, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev reported it at a meeting with President Vladimir Putin, suggesting to submit further issues on the integration of Crimea to the Russian Federation under the jurisdiction of Ministry of Economic Development. At the same time, Medvedev has proposed maintaining the Ministry for the development of the Far East and for the North Caucasus.

"It seems to me that the reason for such a short existence of the Ministry of Crimea can be considered as, above all, the conflict of officials with the Crimean elite, which emerged in the statements of Sergei Aksyonov on the fact that a number of federal officials create corruption cases somewhat artificially," a member of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation, political analyst Sergey Markov said in an interview with a correspondent of Vestnik Kavkaza.

As a member of the Presidential Council for Interethnic Relations, journalist Maxim Shevchenko explained to the correspondent of Vestnik Kavkaza that such a small period of existence Ministry of Crimea is likely due to the fact that it had a prompt appointment, dated to the time of the transfer of Crimea from the jurisdiction of Ukraine to Russia. "Perhaps it just fulfilled its purpose and is no longer needed," the expert suggested.

As to the question of whether the same fate awaits the Ministry of the Caucasus, a member of the Presidential Council on Ethnic Relations assured that they are completely different things.
