While wildfires erupted in Turkey’s west, prompting extensive firefighting efforts, Turkish Agriculture and Forestry Minister İbrahim Yumaklı has announced that 575 hectares of forest and agricultural lands were damaged.
Fires have broken out in the western regions of Çanakkale’s Eceabat district, Uşak and the Dikili forest area in İzmir, with teams fighting the flames from both the air and the ground.
According to Yumaklı, the Çanakkale fire's progress has halted, damaging 575 hectares.
