A special meeting has been held in the Georgian region of Kakheti over the recent wild fires that broke out on several locations in Georgia on Saturday, Agenda.ge reports.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, additional groups of firefighters and rescuers have been mobilised to extinguish the fires with helicopters.
Fire has broken out in several different regions of Georgia in recent days: Kvareli and Telavi Municipalities in Kakheti region; Tusheti region; Kazbegi Municipality in Mtskheta-Mtianeti region; Adjara region.
The investigative activities to find out the causes of forest fires are underway.
