The Demining Battalion of the separate engineering brigade of the Southern Military District has refused to use special equipment for delivery of goods to the mountains of Chechnya. Specialist field engineers prefer transporting by means of horses of Karachai and Mongolian breeds as well as donkeys. Today it has been decided to use yaks in the Caucasus range from 3 thousand meters above sea level.
According to the Portal of the North Caucasus, yaks will primarily be used for demining at the construction sites in the ski resort Veduchi at an altitude of about 2700 meters in the Itum-Kale district.
