Yamal-Europe gas flow on German border hits zero

The physical flow of gas via the Yamal-Europe gas pipeline on the German-Polish border has plunged to zero again, with reverse supplies towards Poland underway, according to information provided by the German-based gas transport operator Gascade. This may be due to requests for reverse transportation surpassing direct pumping requests.

The physical flow of gas towards Germany through the compressor station in Mallnow on the German-Polish border has plummeted to zero. It is formed as the difference between renominations (revised requests) for direct and reverse supply (reverse to Poland). Currently, the requests for gas transportation towards Poland sharply exceed supply renominations to Germany as it is precisely on the mark with the reverse amount, which may explain the level at this station.

Meanwhile, commercial gas supplies are likely continuing along both direct and reverse routes.

Earlier on Friday Gazprom booked capacities for pumping via the Yamal-Europe gas pipeline for the full day of April 1.

The Yamal-Europe transnational gas pipeline runs through the territory of four countries - Russia, Belarus, Poland and Germany. Its designed capacity is 32.9 bln cubic meters of gas per year.
