Yerevan gunmen take doctors hostage

An armed group has taken hostage doctors who came on its demand to render medical aid to the injured, an Armenian police spokesman Ashot Aharonyan said.

The law enforcers are currently "taking measures to release the doctors by way of negotiations" with the armed group members, he added.

The Armenian Health Ministry said "two doctors, a nurse and a paramedic have been taken hostage."

An ambulance crew arrived to the previously seized building of the police patrol service regiment for rendering medical aid to the injured members of the armed group, TASS reports.
