Armenia has summoned the ambassador of the Foreign Ministry of Belarus, Igor Nazaruk, the press service of the Armenian Foreign Ministry reports. The reason was the statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus due to the events around Nagorno-Karabakh.
"As a member of the OSCE Minsk Group we consistently support a peaceful solution to the conflict in accordance with the generally recognized principles and norms of international law, first of all, on the basis of respect and guaranteeing of the sovereignty, territorial integrity and inviolability of borders, as well as the relevant UN Security Council resolutions and decisions of the OSCE,’’ the Belarusian Foreign Ministry stated.
Yerevan decided that official Minsk's position doesn’t correspond to the spirit of Armenian-Belarusian relations and runs counter to the obligations of the parties in the framework of the CSTO.
