The majority of young people living in the North Caucasus regions - almost 70% - see their future in their homeland, according to results of the poll conducted by the Center for Monitoring Public Opinion of the North Caucasus Federal University.
Such an opinion was expressed by 67% of North Caucasian youth, 17% of young people living in the district plan to move to other Russian regions, the rest want to leave for the countries of near and far abroad. Among their needs, the respondents named employment after graduation (77%), high-quality education (61%), own apartment (51%), platforms for self-realization (36%) and initial capital for starting a business (31%), AiF-Dagestan reports.
They also named problems hindering the realization of youth potential: first of all, a high level of unemployment and a lack of motivation (52%), the absence of transparent and understandable social lifts (34%), the low quality of education (30%)
About 3 thousand respondents aged 18 to 35 from seven subjects of the North Caucasus Federal District took part in an online survey conducted by the university, the research materials say.
