Yulia Veprintseva: the project Armory Russia is to remind everyone about greatness of our country

Yesterday the 40th anniversary of the 106th Guards Airborne of the Tula Red Banner Order of Kutuzov's Division started a regional stage of the social-patriotic project Armory Russia–Tula Arms, which is supported by the Russian Ministry of Culture, the Government of the Tula region, as well as the Russian Military-Historical Society.

The head of the regional government, Yuri Andrianov, spoke at the ceremony, stressing the symbolic beginning of the all-Russian project in the capital of Russian weapons. "The start of the project begins in the year of the 70th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. Recently, on the threshold of the 40th anniversary, Tula received the title of Hero City. Tula residents are proud of the fact that for more than three centuries they continue to remain the brand leader in the creation of new types of weapons, making a significant contribution to the defense capability of Russia,’’ he underlined. 

 

The first deputy chairman of the committee of the Federation Council on Defense and Security, Franz Klintsevich, spoke about Tula’s role in protecting the southern approaches to the capital, as well as in the development of the military-industrial complex. 

Then the word passed to representative of the executive authorities of the Tula region in the Federation Council of Yulia Veprintseva, who noted the importance of this project for the patriotic education of youth. She also reported on a number of records of Russia on the use of weapons, established on October 6-7, after which the ceremony took place to award certificates to champions. One of them was won by the senator herself in the category 'Total number of shots from short firearms in 24 hours (women)'.

After that the 106th Airborne Guards of the Tula Red Banner Order of Kutuzov's Division, a small concert of the ensemble Winged Guards, and Sergey Lukyanchikov, a performer of the Mikhailovsky Philharmony of the Tula region performed there.
