A new acting mayor, Zachary Amirov, who was formerly the head of the customs office of Dagestan and also served as the first deputy mayor, has been appointed as the new mayor of Buynaksk. It is reported that Amirov’s position of acting mayor was approved on December 30th 2015 at a session of the local parliament.
It is worth noting that Zachary Amirov has the rank of General of Customs.
Ilyas Omarov, who was the acting mayor, voluntarily resigned on New Year's Eve, Makhachkala's press report.
