Zakharova comments on Saakashvili-Avakov conflict

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman, Maria Zakharova, commented on the video of a conflict between Ukrainian Interior Minister Arsen Avakov and Odessa region governor Mikheil Saakashvili, which took place on December 14 at the meeting of the national reform council.

The Russian Foreign Ministry can only wonder how Russians in Donbass can speak with Kiev when Kiev cannot find common language within its government, Zakharova wrote on her Facebook page.

"I feel sorry for the Russian language, which is banned in Ukrainian schools and universities but is used by ministers and governors to insult each other," she noted. "If such things happen during official meetings, what can be expected from society? It is extremely polarized," she said, adding that the next stage is its further radicalization.

She asked how multi-ethnic Ukraine is going to live in such conditions, "if the current Kiev authorities are shouting to their supporter: "Get out of our country!"

"What will be the fate for Russians in Donbass in a Ukraine ruled by such people?" Zakharova wrote.
