The inauguration ceremony of the Zangilan International airport is being held in Azerbaijan's liberated territories.
The ceremony is attended by Azerbaijani president Ilham Aliyev and President of Turkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Glancing at the airport from the airstairs, Erdogan gave the 'thumbs-up' to the built airport.
The Azerbaijani and Turkish presidents cut the ribbon symbolizing the opening of the airport. The symbolic keys of the Zangilan International Airport were handed over to the presidents.
The Turkish leader is paying a one-day working visit to Azerbaijan on October 20. He is accompanied by Foreign Minister Mevlud Çavuşoğlu, Minister of National Defense Hulusi Akar, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Vahit Kirishchii, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoghlu and other officials.
Yesterday, Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva have viewed conditions created at Zangilan International Airport.
Lachin Airport is the third to be built on Azerbaijan's liberated lands. The grand opening of Fuzuli Airport took place on October 26, 2021, while the opening of Zangilan Airport is expected to be held on October 20, 2022.
