The Russian consumer protection agency Rospotrebnadzor does not rule out the possibility of the Zika virus appearing in Sochi, the head of department Anna Popova said at a meeting with epidemiologists and sanitary doctors.
"There is a carrier, a source of infection may also occur. International flights arriving at Sochi Airport are quite intense, a number of international events, of which around 700 are expected in Sochi this year, attract a large number of foreigners," Popova believes.
