Zvezda TV channel about heroization of fascism in Armenia

Zvezda TV network run by the Russian Ministry of Defence condemned the Armenian government for the glorification of fascism. The Director General of the Institute for Foreign Policy Studies and Initiatives, an advisor to the Director General of the MIA 'Russia Today', TV host Veronica Krasheninnikova, commenting on Armenia's desire to sign a comprehensive partnership agreement with the European Union, recalled Yerevan's heroization of fascist collaborators.

She recalled that in ten days Armenia, which is part of the EEU, the CSTO and Russia's main ally in the South Caucasus, will sign a Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement with the European Union in Brussels at the Eastern Partnership summit. "Like Ukraine, Armenia harness oneself to the "political dialogue "with the European Union, which, I quote, "will enhance the effectiveness of cooperation in foreign policy and defense issues," the host said.

"The association with the European Union is not the only thing that Armenia repeat after Ukraine. For example, a monument to Garegin Nzhdeh was erected in Yerevan in May 2016. In 1942 he asked the Third Reich to turn Soviet Armenia into a German colony. He created the Armenian SS legion and persuaded Armenian POWs that "to die for Germany is to die for Armenia," Veronika Krasheninnikova stressed.

She drew attention to the fact that the monument to Garegin Nzhdeh, erected by the Armenian government, insults the entire Armenian people, who bravely fought in the Great Patriotic War and 106 representatives of which became Heroes of the Soviet Union.

At the same time, the ruling Republican Party of Armenia considers Nzhdeh a hero, Krasheninnikova specified.

The host added that the RPA logo resembles a fascist swastika, and pointed out that the leadership of a political organization does not deny this similarity.

"Recently I had a chance to meet with the leadership of the Republican Party of Armenia. Answering my question about the logo - you will not believe me - one of the leaders confirmed, "yes, we are the Aryans." It seems that there's something we do not know about some representatives of Armenia's ruling circles. Are they really going to put Armenia on the path of Ukraine?" Veronica Krasheninnikova wondered.
