The Georgian Ministry of Education and Science and the National
Science Fund of Rustaveli will finance the research of Georgian social
and intellectual culture, Georgia Online reports.
Georgian Deputy Minister for Education and Science Akaky Seperteladze
and Director General of the fund Sulkhan Sisauri announced the grant
contest today.
The contest will finance the best science projects for studies of
Georgian memorials, literature, archives, ethnographic materials
abroad. The contest is to promote interest of young people in Georgian
cultural heritage.
The contest allows groups of scientists authorized by higher education
centers and the Georgian Orthodox Church to participate. Bids will be
received until September 12.
Studies will take 3 years and receive over 300,000 lari. Additional
finances may be received from science organizations and other
donations.
Sulan Sisauri said that the contest would give a better image of the
Georgian cultural heritage and popularize material and intellectual
culture of the country.
