The Azerbaijani documentary film “Heritage” by Fariz Ahmedov will be
shown at the 7th Kazan International Festival of Muslim Cinema, held
in Tatarstan on September 6-11, Trend Life cites Ahmedov.
The documentary will be shown at the Grand Cinema Theater. Russia,
Iran, Turkey, Kazakhstan, USA, Germany, India, Egypt and other states
will also demonstrate films.
The festival is to help Muslim states to exchange experiences,
demonstrate their cinematic achievements and popularize common
spiritual, moral and cultural values.
“Heritage” is a film about a 9th grader called Ali, who works at Lake
Solyonoye at the village of Masazyr. The lake is the “heritage” passed
from generation to generation. The film was written by Esmira Ayub,
director of photography – Farid Shamil oglu, sound – Elshan Aslanzade,
creative producer – Yusif Guliyev, producers – Rashad Gasymov and
Zakir Musayev. The film was made at the Bir addim studio.
“Heritage” received a diploma at the 30th International Film Festival
of the All-Russia State Institute of Cinematography in October 2010,
and a diploma from the National Educational Channel “Prosveshenye”.
The film won a prize at the Zubrowka International Festival in Poland
in December 2010. It won the Best Documentary Film Award at the 18th
Open Festival of Student and Debut Films “Saint Anna” in Moscow and
the Best Anthropological Film Award at the 7th International Cinema
Festival of Documentary Cinema in Yekaterinburg in March 2011.
