The personal exhibition of photographer Reza Degatti, which opened today in Moscow at the Jewish Museum and Tolerance Center, shows the different religious faith, customs and traditions of the peoples living in the modern and ancient Azerbaijan.
Opening the exhibition, the head of the Federation of Jewish Communities of Russia Alexander Beard noted that Azerbaijan has historically been hospitable to different nationalities . "The fact that this exhibition is being held in thies museum is especially important. It fits well with the core mission of the museum which is to spread good, light, warmth between people, nations, cultures and traditions ," he said.
Azerbaijani Ambassador to Russia Polad Bulbul oglu said that "living in Baku, we did not know the word "tolerance", but we all lived together: children of different nationalities in the same yards, and nobody knew what their parents had in their passports in the graph of nationality." He also noted that many people now live in the country in peace and friendship.
According to the photographer, there is no country more suitable to such exhibition than Russia. Over the last 35 years working with the camera, having visited more than 150 countries, the photographer feels obliged to show the world the tolerant Azerbaijan. " I want to convey to people that they need to live in peace. And Azerbaijan gave me that opportunity," ITAR-TASS quotes the photographer.
