Kazakhstan to launch 71 innovation projects in 2011

Kazakhstan will start the realization of 71 projects within the framework of the state program on boosted industrial-innovative development. Some $5 billion will be spent, 18,600 workplaces will be opened for the construction period and 18,500 permanent workplaces will be opened when the industrial facilities are launched, Deputy Minister for Industry and New Technologies Albert Rau said, ITAR-TASS reports.


12 major projects worth over $2 billion will be launched with over 9,000 workplaces opened during the construction and over 6,000 when the facilities are launched.


The major projects include Moynak dam on Charyn River in Alma-Ata Region, Uzen-Turkmenistan railway line in Mangistaun Region and Zhetyn-Korkas railway line in Alma-Ata Region, increase of the output of the Akbay gold factory to 2.8 tons of gold annually in Zhambalyk Region, improvement of the efficiency of metal construction production in Mangistaun Region, construction of a feeding platform for 5,000 cattle in Akmolin District.


The ministry received 303 requests to add projects to the program, 206 of them were made in 2011.
Kazakhstan has 152 projects within the industrialization map, worth over $5.5 billion. 23,000 workplaces will be opened. The Trade and Industry Chamber of Kazakhstan, the independent observer of the project realization, says that 30 investment projects launched in 2010 are operating at full efficiency.
