The flight recorders of the Il-76 plane of Silk Ways Airlines that
crashed in Afghanistan have been found, RIA Novosti reports.
The plane was carrying 18 tons of cargo on Baku-Bagram route. The
plane broke into several parts after the crash, Governor of Parvan
Province Bashar Salangi said.
The governor said that the fire at the crash side made identification
of bodies impossible.
The crew consisted of Azerbaijani and Uzbek pilots.
The plane was freighted by the International Security Assistance Force
(ISAF) in Afghanistan. It crashed at the Siyakh Gerd village of
Kurband County.
Silk Ways Airlines has headquarters in Baku. It specializes on air
freighting. The company was established in 2001. It makes regular
charter and freighting flights. It is based at the Heydar Aliyev
Airport in Baku. Regular flights are organized to Baghdad (Iraq),
Luxembourg, Tbilisi (Georgia), Cologne (Germany), Kabul (Afghanistan),
Istanbul (Turkey), Dushanbe (Tajikistan) and Dubai (UAE).
Relatives of the dead crew are receiving medical support from psychologists.
A special commission will visit Afghanistan with members of the
Azerbaijani Administration of Civil Aviation and Silk Way, adviser of
the head of the company Adyl Gasymov said.
