The new UN co-rapporteur for human rights in Iran, Ahmed Shaheed, has
asked Tehran to meet the UN's request for better cooperation, Trend
reports.
The UN Council for Human Rights appointed the foreign minister of the
Maldives as the co-rapporteur for human rights in Iran on July 17. The
16th session in Geneva on March 24 passed a resolution on the
appointment.
Shaheed said that he had planned to meet the Iranian ambassador in
Geneva to discuss cooperation.
